He was a member of Holders Grove Church, he was also the owner and operator of Donald Mathis Plumbing Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Ruth Mathis; parents, Clarence and Zona Mae Mathis; sister, Iva Mathis; and brothers, Ronnie, Dan, J.C., Charles, Lawrence, and Dorsey.
He is survived by his son, Donnie Mathis; daughter, Robin (Jim Norris) Ledford; sister, Leta Mae Webb; grandchildren, Jacob Ledford, Daryl (Cody) Wilson, Jared (Cassidy Garrett) Ledford, D.J., Elijah, and Christian Mathis; great-grandchildren, Dakota Wilson, Stetson Wilson, Karter Ledford, and Parker Ledford; also several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-laws and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends 5 p.m. – 7p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 at Manes Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon Large and Rev. Kris Brady officiating. Burial will follow in the Mathis Family Cemetery.
