Donald R. Peterson – passed away peacefully at Eden Vista Rock Run, Friday August 1, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 89.
Donald is survived by his three sons Donald B. Peterson, Gary Peterson, Robert (Suzanne) Peterson, grandchildren James Peterson, Alyssa (Brad) Wallace, Joseph (Arnes fiancé) Peterson, Dana (Robert) Zak, Derek Peterson and six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife Loretta, parents Roger and Ruby Peterson and daughter-in-law Jane Austin.
Don graduated from Glenbard High School class of 1954 and then went on to Valparaiso Technical Institute. He retired from Motorola after 40 years of service as a Supervisor of testing and recalibration lab. Don enjoyed traveling with his wife. He spent many hours tinkering and could fix anything. Don enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their various sporting events. Time with his family meant everything to him and brought him great joy.
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday, August 9th at 12:00 P.M. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery. Memorials to American Lung Association will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services. For information please call (815) 744-0022 or www.CHSFUNERAL.com
