Donald Edward Regan, 95 of Wellsburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV.
Donald was born on August 1, 1929 in Louise, WV. He was the son of the late Martin and Suzanne (Ubrin) Ragan.
Donald proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he worked as a Brooke County Deputy Sheriff in the 1960s and later retired from Conrail.
Donald was well known for his love of the outdoors-especially hunting and fishing-as well as for his skill and enjoyment in building and crafting various items. He was a former member of the Follansbee Presbyterian Church and will be fondly remembered by many for his dedication, service, and passions.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou (Barr) Regan, siblings, Martin Regan, George Ragan, LaVonne Balint, Suzanne Carassco and Anna Mae Saunders.
Donald is survived by his two daughters, Pamela LeVelle and husband, Kirt, Cynthia Rouse and husband, Terry, five grandchildren, Kristen Dennis and husband, Jeremy, Nicholas Rouse and wife, Nadine, Megan Recinella and husband, Korey, Alex Rouse and Justin LeVelle, four great grandchildren, Kooper and Jemma Dennis and Daxton and Jolie Recinella and several nieces and nephews.
The James Funeral Home of Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717 is honored and privileged to serve the family during this time. A private graveside service will be held at Franklin Cemetery in Wellsburg, WV, with Pastor Frank Haas officiating.
Military honors will be conducted by the United States Marine Corps and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad, in recognition of Donald's honorable service to his country.
A special thank you from Donald's family for the love, compassion, and dedicated care provided by his caregivers-Pennie, Lisa, Lynnette, and Sue. The family also extends their deepest appreciation to Valley Hospice for the excellent care and support given to Donald during his time of need.
