Don was a man filled with incredible energy and had such a positive attitude. He could change your day for the better the moment he walked into a room. I always felt that he was looking to do something good for someone everyday. I remember clearly back in the days when he had his dance band and seeing him on stage, and I clearly recall that the smile never left his face when he was making music. He was indeed an incredibly good man who made the world better for all who knew him.

I would like to offer my heartfelt sympathy to all of Don's family and friends. I had the privilege of knowing Don for many years. I first knew of Don as the leader of the Don Sampson Band and what a terrific band it was. After I graduated from College I worked for Don with the ASCS Program in Washington County. I also went to school with his children. He raised a beautiful family. Don was highly respected and admired as he touched the hearts of all of us who knew him.
