With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donald William Scroggins. Donald was born on January 14, 1948, in Springfield, MO. to Donald J. and Viola (Wyant) Scroggins. He peacefully departed this world on November 15, 2024, at his home in Springfield, MO, surrounded by loved ones. Donald retired from City Utilities of Springfield, MO. as an electrician's assistant. He enjoyed hunting in the great-outdoors, woodworking. He also loved watching old western movies and Gunsmoke, and putting Jigsaw puzzles together.
Donald leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He is survived by his son, Donald Scroggins,and his wife, Helen, and his significant other, Janice L. Carson, as well as his nephews Rob Colvard, and his wife, Cecila and Bobby Colvard, and his wife Tammy, great nephew Lance Colvard, and great niece Casondra Millard. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ramona Colvard, and nephew, Timmy Colvard.
A compassionate and caring man, Donald touched the lives of many with his warm smile and gentle demeanor. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Graveside services to honor and celebrate the life of Donald W. Scroggins, at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Slagle Cemetery, near Bolivar, Mo. The visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
The family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Donald's memory. May his soul rest in peace and his memory live on in the hearts of those he touched. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North
