Donald L. Sprinkle, 78, of Wellington, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024. A son of the late Stanton and Marguerite (nee Ewell) Sprinkle, Don was born on February 10, 1946 in Oberlin. He graduated from Black River High School in 1964 and attended Oberlin Business College.
Don loved being an accountant and worked for several companies throughout his career including, C.E. Ward, Gorman Public Accounting, Allen-Thorley-Delloyd Insurance, Kopco Accounting and Ewers & Bogojevich CPA.
Don also loved farming and mowing his yard. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed all of his grandchildren's sporting events and made it a point to attend as many as he could.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Ellen (nee Gemmel); children, Donald A. (Amie) Sprinkle, of Valley City, Jonathan W. (Melanie) Sprinkle, of Amherst, and Melissa M. (Tim) Seder, of Terrell, TX; 17 grandchildren, Jimmy, Annie, Lily, Johnny, Julia, Nathan, Nicholas, Lorena, Mary, Catherine, Zachary, Natalie, Jacob, Tyler (Alexis), Hannah, Luke, and Rebekah; and two great granddaughters, Alanni and Airés. Don is also survived by his siblings, Donna (Paul) Keller, Laura (Jim) Miller; sister-in-law, Janice Sprinkle and mother-in-law, Charlotte Gemmel. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and Ralphie and sister, Sherry (Carl) Given.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, May 13 from 4-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Rev. John Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Don can be made to the Brighton Congregational Church, 22086 OH-511, Wellington, OH 44090 or to the Rochester Fire Department, 200 Eagle Street, Wellington, OH 44090. Condolences and fond memories can be shared at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
