It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Lee Stading, Sr, a man whose love for his family, especially his grandchildren, was evident in everything he did.
He was born on November 10, 1950, in Walla Walla, Washington to the late Herman J. and Eldora J. (Thompson) Stading. He had worked for Whirlpool Corporation and also Red Spot Paint, where he retired from in April of 2024 after over thirty years of service. Don leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories from catching the biggest fish, cheering on his grandkids for everything, and all his childhood stories of him running around in creeks and throwing rocks at cows.
Surviving Don are his girlfriend, Joni Stevens; daughter, Cassandra "Cassie" (Keith) Schmitt; son, Donald "Donnie" (Angel) Stading, Jr, ten grandchildren, Lauren (Nate) Roberts, Olivia Schmitt, Bryce Humphrey, Emma Ewers, Carter Schmitt, Kenzie Stading, Elijah Largent, Talon Stading, and Sadie Schmitt and one great grandson, Nolan Roberts. Also surviving Don are his siblings, Elfie E. Stading Englehart, Edgar C. (Donna) Stading, Kris (Bob) Babst, and Mary Stading Hayes, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by sons, Shane Christopher Stading and Kevin Ray Siscel; brothers, Lloyd J. (Helen) Stading, David Q. (Bonnie) Stading, Paul T. (Irene) Stading and a sister, Connie Stading Church.
There will be a service celebrating Don's life held at a later date in the state of Washington. Local services will be private.
