Born in Portland Oregon, graduated Washington High School, Served as Radioman in US Navy in South Pacific on a troop carrier 1944-1946. Attended Vanport College, Oregon State University, and Anglican Theological Seminary of British Columbia.
For over 50 years he pastored on the Oregon Coast and Willamette Valley.
He is survived by wife Marilyn Blechschmidt, daughters Janis Neigebauer (Ross), Lori Chandler (Mark), four grand and four great-grandchildren. Wives Betty nee Kemper and Margaret nee Giddings predeceased him.
Known among his many friends as an avid gardener and colorful raconteur.
He was healthy and alert nearly to the end of his 98 years and passed peacefully in the presence of his family.
Memorial service will be held in Salem Oregon at:
St. Timothy's Episcopal Church
3295 Ladd Ave. NE
Salem, Oregon, 97701

I have so many wonderful memories of Don. He and my mother Maggie visited me in England after each of my daughters births. He spent many hours at the playground with my daughter Lillian. He loved babies and I can see him now asleep on the couch with a baby sleeping on his chest.
