Donetta Leydet, 72, of Vincennes, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 27, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. She was born July 3, 1952, in Logansport, IN to the late Martin Donald and Patricia Rose (Little) Hall. Donetta graduated from Logansport High School in 1970. On September 3, 1972, she married the love of her life, Frederick E. Leydet. During the 25 years Donetta worked for Gemtron she was known as an excellent baker and would bring in cakes for everyone's birthdays. She was a devoted member of Fellowship Baptist Church and loved being involved with her church family. Donetta leaves behind a legacy of love and service for all those fortunate enough to have crossed her path. Over the years she led many ladies’ bible studies, a time she looked forward to each week. She enjoyed serving with Campers on Mission along side her husband and she also regularly volunteered with the Salvation Army.
Donetta had many hobbies, all of which benefited those around her. She enjoyed sewing, baking cookies, camping, helping others, and spending time with her family. Each of her children and grandchildren will remember her fondly as they are warmed beneath one of the many quilts she made for them over the years. Donetta was one of a kind and knew no stranger. She was incredibly caring and often would make teddy bears and quilts for those who had lost someone they loved. She was a source of encouragement to anyone that needed it. Donetta was a firm believer in the power of prayer and many of her loved ones looked forward to the daily bible verses she sent. She will be deeply missed by all who were honored to know her.
Donetta was preceded by her parents Donald and Patricia Hall.
She is survived by her husband, of 52 years, Frederick Leydet; children Frederick E.
