SIGOURNEY-Donna M. Adam, age 94, of Sigourney, died Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Manor House Care Center in Sigourney.

    Donna was born September 27, 1929, in Sigourney, to Paul and Viola (Rice) Eldridge and graduated from Sigourney High School.  On February 3, 1947, she married Juan Adam in Harper. The couple lived in Harper then moved to Sigourney. Donna worked as a Nurses Aid in both Nursing Homes.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting, sending over 300 children’s quilts to Iowa City Hospitals.

    Survivors include three sons: Larry (Jane Baumert) Adam of Fort Mohave, Arizona, David (Patricia  Trayham) Adam of Oakley, California and Phillip (Emma Kolosick) Adam of Tucson, Arizona , daughter–in-law: Rosemary Adam of North Liberty; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and sister: Linda Van Fleet.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Juan in 1972; son: Douglas Adam; three sisters: Dorothy Jean Daffara, Virginia Hammes and Barbara Appleget and five brothers: Charles “Bud” Eldridge, Robert “Buck” Eldridge, Jerry Eldridge, James Eldridge and Larry Eldridge.

    Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney, with Rev. David Wilkening officiating.  Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney following the service.  There will be no visitation.
