Funeral services for Mrs. Donna Sue Barron will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at HIS Church, Pineville, with Reverend Steve Speer officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mrs. Barron, 85, of Deville, entered eternal rest on Monday, September 15, 2025.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she lived a life full of love, creativity, and deep family bonds. Her family was her greatest joy and most cherished legacy. She had a remarkable gift for sewing and was known for her artistic talents, especially in designing and decorating beautiful wedding cakes. An avid square dancer, she brought joy and rhythm to every gathering. She was honored as a "Lady of the Nile," a title bestowed by the Shriners Hospital in recognition of her grace and dedication. She was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, continuing a tradition passed down from her beloved mother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Roy Barron; her parents, Mederris and Margaret Evans; one brother, Robert Evans; one sister, Patricia Hayes; one daughter, Keri Huffman; and one great granddaughter, Arden Clair Adams.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include three daughters, Vicki Jenkins (Bruce) of Deville, Teri Strickland (Stanley) of Deville, and Kimberli Dressel (Andy) of Deville; eight grandsons, Jeremy Mabou, Blake Futch, Chad Futch, Cass Mabou, Evan Stewart, Cain Mabou, Kolby Jenkins, and Colton Strickland; four granddaughters, Holli Willis, Ashton Adams, Sami Dryden, and Ainsley Fontenot; one brother, Buster Evans (Ann) of Harden, Texas; one honorary son, Steve Speer; and three honorary granddaughters, Tiffany Smith, Mandi Butler, and Randi Lamkin.
A time of visitation will be held at HIS Church, Pineville, on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Jeremy Mabou, Blake Futch, Chad Futch, Cass Mabou, Evan Stewart, Cain Mabou, Kolby Jenkins, and Colton Strickland. Honorary pallbearers will be John Taylor Barron and Jason Barron.
