It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna J. Benoit, who left this world peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 90. Surrounded by her loving family, Donna departed at her residence in Macomb, MI, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, warmth, and cherished memories. Born on November 1, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, Donna was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas Fred and Lerene Marie (Rinas) Behnke Jr. She dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, nurturing her children and creating a loving home. Donna was the devoted wife of the late Daun R. Benoit Sr., with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage after uniting on October 29, 1960. Together, they raised a beautiful family and built a life filled with happiness and love. A devoted mother, she leaves behind her cherished children: Donna (Larry) Tyrna, Mark (Cheri) Benoit, Veronica Schwartz, Blaine (Tracey) Benoit, DeAnna (David) Fortunato, Vickie Fougnie, and her late son, Daun Benoit Jr. Donna was a proud grandmother to Christine, Blake (Avery), Chandra, Amber (John), Samantha (Chris), Robert, Rebbecca (Will), and Jacob. Her role as a great-grandmother to Savannah brought her immense joy. Donna is survived by her dear sister Linda West and is reunited in rest with her predeceased siblings: Thomas, Orville, Bobby, William, Shirley, and Georgia Behnke. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews who will cherish their fond memories with her. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wasik Funeral Home, located at 35259 23 Mile Rd., New Baltimore. A funeral service to celebrate Donna's life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with a committal immediately following at St. Peter's Cemetery in Clinton Township. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Donna J. Benoit will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her memory will forever be a guiding light for her family and friends. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so generously shared throughout her life.
