Donna Lee Brock

Donna Lee Alves Hartley Brock, affectionately known by her family and friends as "Nonna" and "GiGi," passed away, December 23rd, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of profound kindness and service. Born on October 11, 1952, at South County Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Vasco Alves and Elizabeth "Betty" Dutton.

A proud native of Jamestown, RI, Donna spent her final years residing in Warwick. Her life was defined by her generous spirit and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Before her retirement, she dedicated her career to community mental health and housing advocacy. Her compassion extended into her personal life as a foster and adoptive parent, always maintaining a fierce focus on supporting children and the homeless.

Donna's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted partner, Kenneth A. Weeden Jr.; her children, Daniel Bowers and his wife Susan, Mitch Aaron Broz, and Joseph P. A. Weeden. She was the cherished grandmother of twins Sophie and Sami Hmiddouche and Hunter R. M. Broz. Donna also remained a close friend to her previous partner, the late Charles Broz, until his passing in 2024. She is also survived by her siblings: her sister, Joyce R. Alves Koles (wife of the late Matthew Koles), and her brother, Philip Joseph Alves and his wife Kimberly. She leaves behind a beloved extended family of nieces, nephews.

Donna loved the simple pleasures of life: traveling with friends and family, listening to classic country music, and celebrating Christmas. She was well-known for her holiday efforts to provide for families in need, a virtue of charity she successfully passed down to her children and grandchildren.

Her impact on the community was vast, and she will be missed by the many lives she touched.

Services for Donna have been entrusted to the Berarducci Funeral Home, services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests live plants or donations in Donna's memory to Angels in Action in West Warwick, RI, to continue her mission of helping those in need.
