Gary Pina Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Berarducci Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center - Providence on Jan. 17, 2026.
Gary Pina, aged 60, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home on January 16th, surrounded by his loving family. Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love and dedication touched everyone around him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Ann Marfeo; children, Megan Pina of North Providence and her husband Joseph Williams, Jason Melise Domingues and his husband Felix of Johnston, Stephanie Flynn and Paulie, Jerrica, Gary, Zachary and Jasmine Marfeo, all of Johnston. Gary's cherished grandchildren-Jarred, Jeremy, Michael, Kianna, Nevaeh, Natalina, Christian, Jaelyn, Amelia, Audrianna, Amarah and Noah-held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah DiTomassi of North Providence. He's also survived by his brother-in-law Edward Marfeo and his wife Christine of Cranston, his mother-in-law Josephine Marfeo of Johnston. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, especially Chelsea Pina, and friends especially his longtime friend Gregory Costantino. Gary was preceded in death by his dear son Justin Marfeo, his brother Stephen Pina, his granddaughter Alexis and his father-in-law Edward Marfeo. He leaves his loyal Rottweilers-Nyla, Diesel, Nova, Tatum, and Sky-who were his constant companions.

A dedicated family man and a hard worker, Gary spent many years self-employed in the construction field until his illness. He was known for his unwavering commitment as a husband and father, but his greatest joy was being a grandfather. Gary brought laughter and fun to every gathering, always telling jokes, teasing the kids, and giving everyone their own nicknames. Time with family meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment, whether playing kickball in schoolyard, watching football, he loved the Patriots, basketball, (he was an avid 76ers fan), or camping with his grandchildren. He also loved his Red Sox; he watched ESPN with Stephen A. Smith every morning for his daily sports fix. Gary's generosity, caring nature, and heart of gold made him a friend to all, always willing to help anyone in need. His warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him including his extended children, Paige Medieros, Tamaya Almeida, Larissa Lombardi, Danielle Piccoli, Chloy O'Quinn, Tara Parkhurst, Krystal Dutra and John Cervini whom he made his family and loved dearly.

Services for Gary have been entrusted to the Berarducci Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Providence. Family and friends are respectfully invited to visitation on Monday, January 19th, 2026, from 5-7 PM. Gary will be laid into rest with his beloved son in St Ann's Cemetery and burial will be private.
