Ms. Donna Rea Cooke, 79, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 20, 1946, in Forsyth County, NC to the late Elijah Cook and Lilian Honeycutt Cook. Donna enjoyed BINGO, shopping, spoiling her grandkids, and gambling on the slot machines. She owned and operated Daytime Bingo for 25 years. Prior to her owning her own business, she was employed at RJ Reynolds for several years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Scott Spann; grandson, Jayce Haverkos; granddaughter, Kristin Spear; and five siblings. She is survived by her companion of 34 years, Jeff Tingle; three children, Tracy Estep, Shannon Michael (Cory), and Shawn Cooke (Heather); five grandchildren, Ryan Waycaster, Megan Wiles, Summer Williams, (Jacob), Kelsei Cooke, and Cameron Cooke; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob Mendez, Samuel Mendez, Jayden Spear, Midori Waycaster, Brylee Mize , Olive Waycaster, Patrick Finney, Salem Williams, and Hudson Jayce Williams; two siblings, Tony “Buzz” Cooke and Peggy “Susie” Barker; two fur babies, Jax and Petunia; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 3pm Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Matthew Cothran officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later time.
