Donna Germana Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home on May 2, 2025.
Donna Jean Germana died peacefully at the Jack Byrne Center on Sunday, April 27th, at the age of 76.
Donna married Robert Germana, Sr. on July 25th, 1987. Donna and Bob were blessed to have spent over 30 years together. They shared a love of travel and enjoyed many trips over the years. Donna's favorite place to visit was Dollywood, and she visited over a dozen times.
Donna's personality was frequently described as lighting up the room and being full of life. She approached life with a kind heart and a helping hand. Donna was the Croydon Church Sunshine Lady and enjoyed sending out cards and spreading cheer. She was a very proud grandma who always loved to brag about her grandkids.
Donna was a longtime resident of the Newport area. She spent many years running a daycare out of her home and is lovingly known as 'Gramma Donna' to dozens of young people. She loved to read books, sing songs, wipe tears, and threaten to make 'fly soup' when the kids got too loud. She loved all her 'kids' and was so happy to follow their lives and watch them mature and grow.
Donna had a love of Nascar racing, but secretly, we think she might have just loved Kevin Harvick! She spent every race talking to the TV and cheering Harvick on for the win. She continues to support Kevin with her '4EVER4' license plate.
Donna loved decorating and collecting. She especially enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers and, at one time, had over 600 sets. She loved listening to music (especially Dolly!) and dancing. She also enjoyed crafting, cooking, planning events, yard sales, and attending Chaos and Kindness shows. Ultimately, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends the most.
Donna was a strong woman who fought many medical battles to spend as much time as possible with those she loved. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. Please find comfort now in knowing Donna is at peace, and she will be smiling down on all of us.
Donna was predeceased by her husband, Robert Germana, Sr, and her parents, Elmer and Pearl Wright.
Donna is survived by her children and their spouses: Dawn and Cory Safford, Chelle and Chris McGinnis, Rob and Chris Germana, and Erik Germana and Alberto Hernandez; and many grandkids: Emily Safford, Tyler and Kristen Triquet, Krystle and Keegan Dyke, Steven Catani, RJ Germana, Zach and Sam Germana, and Whitney Germana; and her two adorable great granddaughters Zoey and Sophia Dyke.
Donna is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Bev and Bob Richardson, and her brother-in-law, Richard Germana. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that she loved dearly.
A graveside service, laying both Bob and Donna to rest, will be held on Saturday, June 14th at 1:00. The graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Newport, NH. A celebration of life will be held at the Croydon Fire Department directly after the service concludes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jack Byrne Hospice Center.
