Donna L. Hemp

Donna L. Hemp, age 78, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Peabody Manor in Appleton. On September 22, 1947, Donna Lea was born to Elwyn and Rose (Wambold) Horton in Oshkosh. A couple of years after her 1965 graduation from Oshkosh West High School, she moved to Neenah where she started her family. Donna loved music, especially the "oldies" and enjoyed challenging her mind with word searches or crossword puzzles. Traveling was another favorite pastime for Donna and her partner, Jim.

Donna loved her children and grandchildren very much, but took great pride in being "GG" to her great-grandsons.

Donna will be greatly missed by her loving children: Troy (Kristine) Hemp and Traci (John Hunt) Krutz; her grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Rory, Rachel, Taylor, and Brendan; her great-grandsons: Xander and Kaysen; her sister, Geri Horton; an honorary granddaughter, Hannah Heyerdahl; as well as other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Horton; and her Life Partner, Jim Larsen.

The Funeral Service for Donna will be held at 4:30 PM on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Kessler Fahrenkrug Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah, Wisconsin 54956. The Visitation will be held from 3:30 PM until the hour of the Service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park in Oshkosh.

The family would like to thank the staff at Peabody Manor/Birch Cottage as well as the staff with ThedaCare Hospice for the loving kindness and tender care given to Donna.

The family would also like to request that everyone please wear bright colors, casual attire to Donna's funeral.
