Donna J. (Strand) LaJoie, 70, of Winchendon, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
Born in Ayer, MA on December 5, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Grace B. (Strand) Marsolais. Donna spent her early life in West Groton, MA, and was a gratuate Groton-Dunstable High School, Class of 1972. She later earned her Associate Degree in Business Administration from Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA.
Donna moved to Winchendon in 1981 where she dedicated herself to raising her children. Once they reached school age, she returned to the workforce and was employed in Logistics at Bemis Associate, Inc in Shirley, MA at the time of her retirement.
Donna enjoyed sewing, playing card games, and had a great passion for Nascar racing. Her weekends were were often spent with friends attending stock car races at Monadnock or Thompson Speedway. After her retirement, she made annual trips with her grandchildren to her favorite destination - North Myrtle Beach, SC. Above all, Donna cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren
Donna is survived by her two sons, Keith LaJoie of Winchendon and Kevin LaJoie of Gardner; a daughter, Heather Robinson, and her husband, Matthew Robinson, of Winchendon; four grandchildren, Jakob LaJoie, Seth Robinson, Ethan Robinson, and Levi Trombly; a brother, Robert H. Strand of West Groton; and two nephews, Robert and Daniel Strand. She is also survived by several cousins.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m in the Christian Union Church, 37 West Main Street, Groton, MA 01450. Burial will follow at the Groton Cemetery, 242 Hollis Street, Groton, MA 01450.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Heywood Hospital, Oncology Department, 242 Green Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Please reference in memory of Donna J. LaJoie
