Donna Brown Leroux, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 29, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on November 9, 1938, in Dorset, Minnesota, to Rex and Rosabelle Shone Brown, who preceded her in death.
Donna's adventurous spirit led her from her upbringing in Junction City, Oregon, to the bustling city of Washington, D.C., right after high school. There, she embarked on an early career at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, working as a secretary of J. Edgar Hoover. After many years in Washington, she transitioned into a fulfilling career as a dental assistant, a role she held until her retirement.
She found joy in simple pleasures and activities throughout her life-playing Bingo, dealing in and restoring antiques, and visiting casinos were among her favorite pastimes. Donna was especially fond of the Oregon coast, fishing in the pond, and watching the delicate dance of hummingbirds. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1341 in Bull Shoals, Arkansas.
Her life journey took her to various places, notably raising her children in North Carolina. In her final year, she resided on a serene 3.5-acre property in Denton, North Carolina, with her daughter Denise, a place she lovingly called "paradise."
Donna is survived by her loving family: daughters Donna O'Dea and husband Eric of Yamhill, OR; Denise O'Dea Rose and husband Brian of Denton, NC; Debra O'Dea Lightner and husband Scott of Amity, OR; Tammy O'Dea Roberts and husband James of Amity, OR; and Christina Blevins of Randleman, NC. She also leaves behind her son, Danny O'Dea of Summerfield, NC. Her legacy continues through her 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
In remembrance of Donna's vibrant life, the family will hold a service at a later date, to be announced. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Randolph for their exceptional care, with special thanks to Daisy and Kim for their compassionate support in Donna's final hours.
Donna's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Midstate Cremation & Funeral Service in
Asheboro, NC is honored to assist the family of Ms. Donna Leroux.
