Donna Hoffman Lofstrom

Donna Hoffman Lofstrom sadly passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at her home in Pine City with her husband and best friend, Delmar "Del" Andrew Olaf Lofstrom by her side at the age of 82.

Donna Mae Hoffman was born January 10, 1943 to John and Nettie (Bershodsky) Hoffman in St. Paul, Minnesota.

In 1960, Donna graduated from Central High School in St. Paul. She remained very close friends with many of her classmates for 60+ years going back to grade school. She was employed with the State of Minnesota for 30 years and kept in contact with many of her colleagues throughout her years of retirement.

Upon her retirement, Donna and Del moved to Pine City to live by the Lake; this was the place they most considered their home. She enjoyed traveling, tending her garden, and taking day trips. Donna joined groups of ladies for fun and activities; having many fond memories over the years with friends young and old. She cared for many people and was a true animal lover. Her pet Lily was a rescue.  She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

After her son Allen passed away in 2024, Donna was so very pleased that Allen's friends kept in contact and continued to care about her.

Donna is survived by her loving husband Del Lofstrom; step daughter Karen (Dave) DeSchepper; grandchildren Nicole Larson, Heather Larson (Arthur), Marissa Stoughtenger (Eric), Kelsey Langaard (Justin), Alayna Burton; 4 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Hjalmer Lofstrom; daughters-in-law Amy Christianson, Raquel; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents John & Nettie Hoffman; infant daughter Emma; son Allen Burton; step son Anthony Lofstrom.

A celebration of Donna's life will be held 2-5:00 PM; Saturday (9/6) at the Pine City Heath-Perkins American Legion Post #51. Per Donna's wishes please come and share your memories and fun times.
