Donna (Barker) Michaud, 79, of Newington, passed away at home on Saturday, December 28, 2024 with her beloved husband Peter by her side.
Donna was born February 1, 1945 in Millinocket, ME, the daughter of Loretta (Gagnon) and Francis Barker. She was raised in Frenchville, graduated from Madawaska High School in 1964 and moved to Connecticut in 1966. She worked briefly at Stanley Works and then the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles before beginning her career at Levy & Droney Attorneys at Law for 22 years, retiring in 2008. Donna had a passion for travel, and over the years, she took several memorable trips across the United States and to various Caribbean islands with her devoted husband. Bingo was a major part of Donna's life as well, not only for the game itself but for the incredible friendships she formed over the years. Whether playing or calling numbers, she cherished the camaraderie that came with the game. Donna's vibrant spirit, friendships, and generosity also extended to her hobbies, which included reading, golfing, bowling, attending craft shows, and knitting. She adored knitting hats and mittens, which she donated to local charity organizations and hospitals, particularly for newborn babies. Donna is survived by her husband of 41 years, Peter; her two children, Debby Lyons and her husband Donald, and Donald Olson and his wife Dorothy, and three step- children, Scott Michaud, Karin (Michaud) Adams, and James Michaud. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews and her eleven beloved grandchildren, Jessica Lyons, Jacob Lyons, Anna Lyons, Connor Olson, Tyler Olson, Meghan Michaud, Mitchell Michaud, Paige Michaud, Mike Adams, Jr., Kyle Adams, and Derick Michaud; She is also survived by her two brothers, Larry Barker of Berlin, CT and Jerry Barker of Bristol, CT and a sister, Paula Barker of West Hartford, CT. She was predeceased by her brother, David Barker, and her sister, Theda Gagnon. She will be missed by all.
Burial in West Cemetery, Plainville will be private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral services have been entrusted to Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville, CT.

Donna, my sister and I bowled together for years at the Brunswick bowling alley that used to be in Plainville. She and my sister were great pals and when I took up golf, Donna was my partner through all the agonizing rounds when I was hitting my ball sideways. She will always be remembered by me, for her kindness, her patience, he wonderful sense of humor. We laughed together all the years we bowled together, and even more, all the years we golfed together. Donna was a treasure. I loved her a lot.
