Donna Ruth Nelson, 67, of Campbell, passed away on August 17, 2025 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 25, 2025 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benny Chaffin officiating. Interment will be in Brigham Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at the funeral home.
Donna was born in Lake Charles Louisiana on April 8, 1958 to James ''Sarge'' Erwin and Billie Joyce Nix Erwin.
Donna worked many different places in her years starting at Dan's Country Market for a few years. She then enjoyed her time working in special education until her first grand baby was born. She enjoyed more than anything being a Nana to her grandbabies. After that Donna raised dogs for numerous years. She then worked as a caregiver for Ms. Lunceford for some time. She enjoyed her last few years of work at Cracker Barrel.
She is survived by mother Billie Joyce Erwin; Her daughter Julie McCormack and her husband Jeremy Mccormack, Siblings Wanda and Scott Plummer, Dian Erwin and Sylvia Wilkins, Amy Erwin, and Jimmy Erwin; Grandkids Kelsey and husband Dillon Daniels, Kaylee and husband Nakeia Norris, Kash McCormack, and Brylee and Brayden Lunceford; Great grand baby Branson James Daniels; Nephews Lee and David Taylor and Uncle, Norris Nix.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Lunceford and father, Sarge Erwin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy McCormack, Scott Plummer, Nakeia Norris, Dillon Daniels, and Kash McCormack.
Donna may have been a fiesty thing but she held a special place in her heart for people she loved; Janie Lunceford, Big Mama (Ollie Bell), Jackie Lunceford, and her best friend Vickie Spradling. And ALL of her dogs!
