Donna E. Ponath was called to her eternal rest on the 1st day of January 2024. She was born on March 3, 1951, in the city of St. Louis, Missouri to Earl J. and Dorothy (Eldridge) Brassfield, who preceded her in death.
Donna was full of love and warmth in the lives of all who knew her. In the serene beauty of Osage Beach, Missouri, Donna closed her eyes to this world and with grace she entered the Heavenly Kingdom. Donna's journey through life was marked by the joys of laughter and cherished moments spent with her beloved husband, Herb Ponath, Jr. Together they created a loving family.
Her family included her children, Christina, Herbert and Angel, along with her sons-in-law Jeff and Russell Martin and daughter-in-law Nikki, grandchildren Brooklynn, Jaxstin, Paisley and Landyn Martin, and brother Kenneth Brassfield. Donna was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Welcher and Barbara Halloway, and one brother, Earl Brassfield, Jr.
These people were the pride and joy of her life. As we celebrate Donna's life, we carry forward the lessons she taught us through her actions. She taught us to embrace each day with open arms and to treat everyone how they wanted to be treated.
As the sun sets on Donna's earthly chapter, we are reminded that her light will forever shine bright in the lives she touched. Her spirit now soars, an eagle in flight in our hearts and minds she'll always be, a guiding star for eternity, in the heaven's above. An angel we send with a final whisper, a gentle good night, a memory continues in light.
Service arrangements are incomplete currently. Interment will be in the Hedges Cemetery.
