Donna Lee Ranquist, 76, of Thomaston, passed away on July 31, 2025, at Penbay Medical Center in Rockport.

Born on February 25, 1949, in Rockland, Maine, Donna was the daughter of Charles and Gwendolyn (Robinson) Ranquist. She grew up in Rockland, where she attended local schools and graduated from Georges Valley High School in 1968.

Donna's life was marked by her love for family, hard work, and an unwavering dedication to caring for others. As a homemaker, she devoted much of her time to raising her children. For 16 years, she worked as a CNA at Penbay, where she touched many lives with her compassionate care. She also worked at ASK For Home Health Care in South Thomaston, always putting the needs of others first.

In her personal time, Donna found joy in simple, meaningful things. She loved reading, crocheting, knitting, and crafting. Her love for Elvis memorabilia was a cherished hobby. Donna was a member of both the Grange and Pursuit Church in Rockland. During her husband's time in the service, she also volunteered at Family Services.

She was always delighted in spending time with her grandkids and great grandson, Landyn, whom she often described as "the light of her life."

Donna is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Donald Sturks.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Johnston and fiancé Wesley Colson Sr. of Rockland, and Bobbi Wing and husband Gabe of Jefferson. She also leaves behind her former husband and lifelong friend, John Flaherty of Waldoboro. Donna's grandchildren, Alicia Johnston of Union, McKenzie Wing of Hope, Bryan Johnston and Aubrey Johnston of Thomaston, as well as her great-grandson Landyn Gaetz of Union, were all a central part of her world. Donna is also survived by many siblings, nieces, nephews, and an extended family who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, from 5-7 PM at Hall Funeral Home, 78 Main Street, Thomaston.

Memorial donations may be made in Donna's name to Pope Memorial Humane Society, PO Box 1294, Rockland, ME 04841.

Donna leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
