Mrs. Donna Marie Georgiana Hucik, 76, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 7:16 AM at the Uniontown Hospital. Donna has went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and also been reunited with her parents. She was born on March 1, 1949 in Uniontown.

Donna was a breast cancer survivor. In recent years she was undergoing kidney dialysis at Fresenius Kidney Care in Uniontown since 2021.

She was the first valedictorian for the new class at Laurel Highlands High School, class of 1967, graduating with a perfect 4.0. Possessing an analytical mind and a genius-level IQ, she was offered full four year business scholarships to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, and West Virginia University.

Donna had a beautiful soprano voice where she performed as a soloist for her Junior and Senior High school choir for six years. Her cousin, Lucia Terravechia Kovell, and her would perform musical recitals at various churches and professional business and group meetings in the Uniontown area. They both started on their musical careers at a very early age.

After high school graduation, at the age of 18, she tested for the FBI agency in Washington D.C., and was offered a full-time position. Donna was employed as an administrative secretary for the US Congressman, Thomas E. "Doc" Morgan, from 1972 until his retirement in 1976, where she was in charge of his Uniontown office in the Federal Building. Next, she worked for Farmers Home Administration for many years as an administrative secretary and next as an inspector for FHA. She worked in insurance for Brown Smiley Insurance Agency for four years. In 1993, she tested with 500 candidates, many with master degrees, for the newly opened Centers for Disease Control in Morgantown, WV, where she scored the second highest score out of the 500. Donna was awarded the position of the manager of the administrative secretaries in one of the scientific branches of the CDC. She worked for the CDC until she retired in 2008.

Donna had a charismatic personality and a beautiful smile. She made friends very easily and lived life to the fullest. A devoted Jimmy Buffet "Parrot Head"! Her and her husband, Ron, better known as "Bun", attended thirty-seven Jimmy Buffet concerts. They loved going to Daytona Beach, Key West, Tampa Bay, and other Florida beaches for over forty years.

She had many good and best friends, but loved being with two childhood friends the most, Linda Conn Kistler and Diane Mahoney Wallace.

Donna was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Mae Vitti Georgiana in 2012 and her father, Frank Daniel Georgiana, Sr. in 1975. She was also predeceased by many aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. On her husband's side, she was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Linda Hucik (Tim), whom she loved like a sister. Her parent-in-laws, John and Helen Hucik.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald "Bun" Hucik, whom she married on February 21, 1976; a brother, Frank Daniel Georgiana, Jr. of Uniontown; a sister-in-law, Elaine, whom she loved like a sister as well; (Ron and Ron, Jr.) George and Tim Hucik, Patty (George) Ringer and Rick Ringer and sons Michael Ringer (Hanna) and Steven Ringer and many cousins and relatives. In addition to her relatives and friends, she is survived by her "adopted daughter and granddaughter", Barb and Grace Fike (Yalich); many cousins and relatives on both the maternal side (Vitti) and paternal side (Georgiana).

Donna studied cats as a hobby and had a wealth of knowledge about them. She had many cats over the years. Surviving are two cats, Whiskey (Tabby) who is four years old and Chelsea (all gray cat) who she rescued and is 17 years old.

Donna's sudden death affected many people. Donna will be sadly missed by her husband, brother, many family members, cousins, friends, former work colleagues, and people who came in contact with her, even if it was just once.

Visitation for Donna will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Thursday, July 31st from 4 to 8 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Therese Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Friday, August 1st at 10 AM, with prayers of transfer at 9:15 AM at the funeral home.

Inurnment is in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
