Donna Eileen Strauser

Mrs. Donna Eileen Strauser, age 83, of Newnan, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. She was born on March 31, 1942, in Boston, MA, to the late Edward James and Effie Hartley Cushing (Foster).
Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Anthony Strauser; her brothers, Edward (Lisa) Cushing and Daniel (Patricia) Cushing; her sister, Diane "Nina" Downing (Cushing); and her son, Tommy (Theresa) Strauser.
Donna was known to always have a big smile and a warm hug for everyone she met, and her presence would light up the room; she never knew a stranger. When Donna asked how you were doing, she was genuinely interested in hearing the answer. She was a beloved mother, wife, and friend and was adored by her grandchildren. She had a deep Christian faith and dedicated her life to spreading the love of Jesus. Donna had a heart for service. She taught Sunday school for many years, and together she and her husband, Tom, volunteered at nursing homes and hospitals and worked for several homeless missions, including The Kingston House in Boston, MA, The Atlanta Union Mission in Atlanta, GA, and The City Rescue Mission in Jacksonville, FL. Donna also served internationally, taking several mission trips to Romania with First Baptist Church of Newnan, GA. Donna was a shining example of how to embody and demonstrate God's love and compassion. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
Donna is survived by sisters Anna (Kevin) Griffin, Norma (Paul) Roche, Heidi Cournoyer, son Daniel (Darlene) Strauser, daughters Diane (Anil) Prasad, Lauren Strauser, Mary (Robert) Hinely, Donna Elizabeth (Carl) Schroder,13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life for Donna will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, Georgia. The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm, and the funeral service, officiated by Chaplain Dan Akins, will begin at 3:00 pm. A reception honoring Donna's life will be held at the Historic Train Depot in downtown Newnan immediately following the service.
