Eddie Strauser, a cherished member of the Potosi community, passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on October 21, 1957, in Cadet, he was a man whose big heart touched the lives of many. Eddie was known for his unwavering kindness and selflessness, always putting others before himself.
Throughout his life, Eddie dedicated countless hours to volunteering, embracing the spirit of service that defined him. His remarkable involvement with organizations such as the Salvation Army, where he lent his support during times of emergency disasters, the Washington County Head Start, and the Helping Hands Food Pantry exemplified his commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around him. Eddie was especially proud of his contributions to the Potosi Marching Band, where he fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among its members.
Eddie is survived by his beloved daughter, Peggy, and her husband William Hicks; his son, Sammy Strauser; and his dear sister, Sharon Peck. He is also mourned by his sister-in-law, Louise Strauser, and his cherished niece and nephew, Bridgett and Randy Mayfield, along with many other nieces, nephews, and loving grandchildren who will carry his memory in their hearts.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Strauser, and his mother, Ada (Meyers) Strauser, daughter, Amy Strauser, in addition to his siblings, Audrey Mayfield, Donald Strauser, Ronald Strauser, and Larry Strauser.
Eddie's legacy of kindness and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed by a community that he so generously served.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home.
