Mrs. Donna Jean Teter, 90, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on July 8, 2024 at Miller's Health and Rehab.
Donna was born on November 9, 1933 in La Porte, IN, to John and Doris (Glanders) Mayer.
On September 29, 1951 in La Porte, she married Thomas D. Teter, who preceded her in death. Surviving Donna are her children, Nancy (Chad) Addie of La Porte, Laurie (William) Arion of Kingsbury, and Steven (Donna) Teter of La Porte; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Thomas W. Teter; and grandson, Kyle Schweder.
Donna had many things that she enjoyed in her blessed life! She loved to walk, walking daily for many years at Kesling Park. She loved to play bridge, partnering with her mother. Those close to Donna knew that the bridge team of Donna and Doris were unbeatable because they had the ability to read each other's facial expressions, knowing what cards the other held!
She was a talented artist. Every birthday card that she sent out had a drawing made out of love on it. Her love of art was only outdone by her love for her husband, as she forfeited a full art scholarship to marry her farmboy from Kansas at age 17!
Donna loved her family with a passion. Her family could always count on her to help "pick up the pieces" and encourage! Outdoing her love for her family, was her love for God, talking with Him, praying for her family, and depending on Him to give her strength to meet every challenge. Donna is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior!
She showed love, devotion, strength, loyalty, and faithfulness to all who met her. Donna was a beautiful soul, precious in His eyes!
Donna worked for many years as the co-owner of Teter Realty, TK & Associates, and Teter Tool & Die. She was a member of Tri-Kappa, Beechwood Golf Ladies, Bridge Club, Elks Lady Auxillary, and various other community organizations.
