It is with heartfelt love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Donna Yates, 65, of Indianapolis, Indiana, on September 29, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on August 21, 1960, in Indiana, Donna was the cherished daughter of Benjamin Yates Sr. and Joyce Wilson. She is survived by her loving husband, Sheldon Robinson, with whom she shared many devoted years. She was a devoted mother to her daughter Latrice Manuel (Eddie) and stepchildren Alyson Robinson and Alex Robinson (Tiffani). She was also a proud grandmother to Janiyah Edwards, Jayion Edwards, Eddrin Manuel, and Eddriana Manuel, who brought her immense joy.

Donna is also survived by her brothers Mark Yates (Jackie), Danny Yates (Lola), and Michael Young (Pamela); her sisters Sharon Vinson (Karl) and Carla Smith; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her brothers Calvin Yates, Jeffrey Yates, and Benjamin Yates Jr.

She worked for FedEx for many years and will be remembered for her strong work ethic, warm spirit, and dedication. In her free time, Donna enjoyed playing Bingo, a pastime that filled her with joy and laughter.

A service to honor Donna’s life will be held at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services - Lawrence on Friday, October 10, from 5–7 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate her memory.

Donna’s presence was a gift to all who knew her. Though she has left this earthly life, her love, laughter, and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
