Donnell Smith, 65, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on March 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Donnell was born on December 29, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Earl Smith and Mae Bertha Hubbard.
He graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in 1977. Donnell worked for many years as a CDL driver with Yellow Freight and was a proud member of the Local Teamsters 745. He was actively involved in local politics and neighborhood association meetings, always advocating for his community.
Donnell was a faithful member of Christ Community Fellowship Church, where he found joy and fellowship among believers.
Cherishing his memory are his daughter, Shakira Smedley; grandchildren, Trinity Benton and Tiauni Benton; brother, Earl Smith; sister, Lanetta Smith; nieces, Monica Colbert and Curtrenna Williams; and former spouse, Lynette Smith. He is also remembered by Janae and Aaron.
Donnell was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Smith and Mae Bertha Hubbard.
