It is with deep sorrow and profound reverence that we announce the passing of Donnie Loren Garduno, known to those closest to him as "Grumpy". A beloved father, devoted husband, and cherished friend, who departed this world on May 20, 2025, in Hernandez, New Mexico. Born on September 8th, 1977, in Los Alamos, New Mexico, Donnie's life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and family.
Donnie was preceded in death by his unborn child, Baby Fatty, father, Donnie A. Garduno, mother-in-law , Vickie Valdez, great grandma Benina Espinoza, great grandma Declina Garduno, grandma, Lucy Manzanares, grandfather Donaciano Garduno, Aunt, Rosemary Garduno, his wife’s grandfather, Gilberto Valdez, and great grandma Tonita Martinez.
Donnie is survived by his spouse, Camil Valdez, mother, Patsy Salcido, sons, Fabian Garduno, XavierMarcus Garduño, and Victoriun Donnie Jr. Garduno, Godson, AlbianJames Valdez-Hern, brother, Frankie (Deanna) Garduno, sister-in-law, Heather Valdez Hern (Samuel Hern), grandpa Paul (Cordy) Garcia, uncle, Bobby Garcia, grandma on wife’s side, Rose Valdez, Aunt , Mildred Valdez, Uncles, Larry and Johnny Valdez, Grandma, Belia Garduño, special cousin, Audrey Garduño, who was like a sister to him, Aunts, Lorraine, Judy, Dolores "Pancha" , and Angie, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends.
Donnie was very good with electronics and computers; He could fix anything that he put his mind to and was also a very experienced gamer with some of his favorites being Red Dead Redemption, Ghost Recon, and GTA. Donnie loved any kind of music and singing, he could often be heard singing along to his favorite songs and anything that had a nice melody. He knew a lot about God and enjoyed having conversations about the bible and religion. He also enjoyed drawing and was especially gifted at drawing cartoons. Above all, He always put his family first and was very proud of his boys.
Pallbearers: Camil Valdez, XavierMarcus Garduno, AlbianJames Valdez Hern, Isaiah Rojas, Samuel Hern, Patrick Vargas, Hasan Blackmore and Victoriun Donnie Jr. Garduno (who will be carrying Donnie's Urn to his final resting place)
Honorary Pallbearers: Audrey Garduno, Franky Garduno, Heather Valdez Hern, and all of his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 5:00pm at Victory Faith in Espanola, NM. The Mass will take place on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:00am at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz, NM.
As we bid farewell to Donnie, we celebrate a luminous soul who embodied love, devotion, and family, and whose spirit will continue to guide us. May he rest in peace, eternally embraced by his faith and surrounded by the love he so effortlessly shared in this life.
