Rev. Donnie B. Jackson, of Lynn Haven, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Donnie was born on February 19, 1939, in Alford to the late Curtis M. and Mallie D. Jackson. He graduated from Bay High School in 1957. Following graduation, he began working at J.D. Holmes Fish Market and later at Ideal Bakery. He eventually went to work at the papermill, where he dedicated 42 years of faithful service before retiring in 2002. Prior to his retirement, Donnie and his family traveled, sang, and ministered together for many years, becoming well known as The Jackson's. He was a wonderful musician and played the steel guitar with such poise. After retirement, he answered the call to ministry and faithfully served as Pastor of Springfield Community Church for 14 years. He was also a devoted member of The Living Word of Faith Fellowship for 34 years, where he diligently served as secretary/treasurer. Donnie was a loving and supportive husband, father and pawpaw.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Curtis H. Jackson; his sister, Janice Dabbs; and his great-granddaughter, Madelyn Woodham.

Those left to cherish Donnie's memory include his beloved wife Mrs. Schelba Jackson of 68 years; his daughters, Shannon Hunter (husband, Charlie) and Sheila Swearington (husband, Jerry); his grandchildren, Tiffany Kelly (James), Austin Woodham (Alannah), Justin Swearington (MaryAnn), Chip Hunter (Maggie), and David Hunter (KeriAnne); and his great-grandchildren, Danielle, Schelby, Tarrence, and Torrance Kelly; Mallie Woodham; Dylan, Hanna, Kenzie, and Dallas Swearington; and Caroline, Brigham, Charli, Griffin, and Wally Hunter. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph E. Jackson (wife, Sandy), along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Springfield Community Church. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, also at Springfield Community Church. Officiating will be Reverends Eddie Pitts, Preston Haddock, Kevin Dabbs, and James Kelly. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Miles Grice, Brandon Dabbs, Kevin Dabbs, Justin Swearington, Austin Woodham, and Dylan Swearington. Honorary pallbearers will be the ministers of The Living Word of Faith Fellowship.
