Donovan “Don” E. Glander

79, of Eaton, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

He was born August 30, 1946, in Dayton, to the late Harold W. and Helen L. (James) Glander.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Dennis Glander.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Betty Glander; children, Donovan “Donnie” Glander, Jr., Mary (Tim) Goforth, Tony (Lori) Stall, Doug (Janet) Stall, and Chris (Amanda) Cass; grandchildren, Brian, Meredith, Zeph, Bryce, Cameron, Addy, Josie, Xander, Gavin, and Kylie; sister, Judy Hopkins; brother, Bob Glander; his beloved dog, Spicie; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Don’s life was one of service, devotion, and adventure — a journey that took him across the globe and back home again to the people and places he loved most. A retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force, Don proudly served his country with honor and distinction, stationed at bases around the world. Whether near or far, his sense of duty and integrity never wavered.

When the uniform came off, Don found joy in the simple, steady rhythms of everyday life. He was an avid bowler who could always be counted on for a competitive spirit and a good laugh at the lanes. The great outdoors called to him often — especially the peaceful setting of Deer Run, where camping trips became treasured times of relaxation and reflection.

A faithful member of Twin Valley Baptist Church, Don found deep fulfillment in teaching Sunday School and participating in the men’s Bible study group. His faith shaped his life, grounding him in gratitude and kindness that touched everyone around him.

Family meant everything to Don, and his grandchildren were the brightest lights in his world. He loved sharing stories from his Air Force days, teaching them about respect, and showing them what quiet strength looked like.

And of course, Don was a “truck guy” through and through. He kept his vehicles spotless and running just right — always on the lookout for that next perfect ride. His meticulous care was a reflection of who he was: thoughtful, proud, and unwavering in the details that mattered most.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 8 from 1PM to 3PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria. The funeral service will begin at 3PM with military honors.
