Regina Wright
68, of Lewisburg, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 27, 2025.
She was born August 11, 1957 in Dayton, to the late Richard “Dick W. and Doris A. (Wysong) Wright.
In addition to her parents, Regina was preceded in death by her sisters, Scherry Lynn Durham and Rae Jean Parks; and brother, Rick Wright.
She is survived by her son, Brent Wright; grandchildren, Caitlin Wright, Ashley Hogan, and Chase Wright; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Rex Wright; and brothers-in-law, John Durham and Jeff Parks.
Regina’s hands were rarely still. Whether crocheting a blanket to warm a loved one, a scarf to chase away the winter chill, or any number of creative pieces, she poured her love into each stitch. Her family often joked that her yarn basket was bottomless, but it was really her heart that never ran out.
Quiet evenings often found Regina tuned into the Hallmark Channel, delighting in stories where kindness always won and happy endings were guaranteed. But her own home was where she crafted the sweetest stories—gathering her family around the dinner table. No one could rival her chicken pot pie or her homemade noodles, both served with the comfort and warmth that made her kitchen the true heart of the household.
Her greatest joy, however, was not found in the yarn she worked or the meals she cooked—it was found in her grandchildren. Regina considered them her life’s greatest blessing and her very reason to live. They knew her as more than just a grandmother; she was their safe place, their cheerleader, their biggest fan, and their most devoted companion.
Regina’s legacy is one of love made tangible—in soft crocheted gifts, in the aroma of a home-cooked meal, and in the countless memories she leaves in the hearts of her family. Though she is no longer here to wrap her arms around those she cherished, her love remains wrapped tightly around them, just like one of her handmade blankets.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 3 from 12PM to 2PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria, with the funeral service to begin at 2PM. Regina will be laid to rest beside her mom at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
