Dorathea W. Speth, 94 of Pittsfield, passed away June 3, 2025 at Hillcrest Nursing Home after a short illness.
Born in Pittsfield, MA on July 1, 1930 to the late Winthrop and Dorathea Smith Kie, she was educated in Pittsfield schools.
She was married to the late Frank M. Speth.
She was a hand wirer at the former Schaefer Eaton and she also worked at Joann Fabrics.
Mrs. Speth enjoyed bowling, fishing and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Ellen J. LePage (John) of New Lebanon, NY, Susan C. Daley (Ray) of Dalton, Frank M. Speth, Jr. of Pittsfield, and Sherry L. Rando of Pittsfield. 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. As well as many nieces and nephews.She is also survived by her siblings, Winthrop Kie of Pittsfield, Shirley Langenback of Dalton and Irene Vinette of Dalton.
Dorathea was predeceased by a daughter, Sally A. Demarsico; and her siblings, Milton and Leland Kie, Margaret Barnes, Rosalie Burnet, and son in law, Thomas Rando.
Funeral Notice: Funeral home services will be held, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be held, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
