Doreen S. Barger, 94, of Lakeside, passed away peacefully at Valerie Manor on September 14, 2025. She was the widow of Andrew Barger, and daughter of Clarence and Olive Sager. To leave your condolences please visit Doreen's page at prospectmemorial.com.

Many fond memories of working with Doreen at SNET so long ago. We would sit high on chairs with wicker seats and take calls from strangers, neighbors, celebrities and people having an emergency, where their first thought was to dial `0´. Our personal lockers would have extra clothes and toiletries for times when we would be required to stay and work through blizzards and floods or handle international calls from local relatives after an earthquake, volcano eruption or political upheaval. Doreen always had a quiet grace and friendly smile. It was a pleasure to be her friend and work beside her on Prospect Street, then Kennedy Drive.
