Doris Barton Obituary
Doris Ann Barton, age 67, of Corbin, Kentucky was born on June 8, 1957, in Red Bird, Kentucky, and passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Baptist Health in Corbin, KY.
Her radiant smile, warm heart, and unwavering faith left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know and love her. Doris attended New Vision Pentecostal Church in Gray, Kentucky, and she lived her life in accordance with the teachings of her faith. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6) This verse epitomizes Doris's approach to life.
She was a beacon of strength, resilience, and grace, always ready to lend a helping hand, share a word of encouragement, or offer a comforting hug. Her passion for her children and grandkids was unparalleled, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them. Doris spent her professional life as an Assistant Manager at Dollar General, where she was known for her dedication, compassion, and commitment.
Doris is survived by her devoted husband, Raymond Barton; children, Anita Dawn Chambers (Joe Couch), James Robert Lee, and Casey Devenger; grandchildren, Kailee ReAnn Saylor, Jace Alexander Saylor (Erica Brown), Aubree Kay Lee, and Michael Gage Lee; great-granddaughter, Brenleigh Caroline Saylor; brother, Kenny Saylor (Kimberly); and by several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Walter Saylor Jr.; her granny, Nancy Jane Saylor; great-granddaughter, Peyton Elizabeth Harris; and by her son-in-law, Michael Chambers. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that her loved ones will treasure forever. Her legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched.
Floral Tributes for Doris Barton
Visitation for Doris Barton will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 6-8 pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 28th at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Rev. Bryan West officiating.
Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery - Fox Addition in Knox County, Kentucky
