Doris Danese Card, born on April 1, 1928, left this earth on February 18, 2025 peacefully in her sleep, 96 years young. She is survived by her son, David Charles Card (Myra), daughter in law (Linda), sister, Hazel Danese Cannon,9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her mother, Beatrice A Danese; father, Phillip Danese; son, Paul David Card and one grandson.Doris Worked 33 years for Barnett Bank and retired in 1991. She enjoyed her retirement years by spending them with family and friends, taking care of her mom, cooking and traveling. She also volunteered at the local hospital and nursing homes for a number of years and at the information booth at the local mall here in JacksonvilleDoris was quick witted and loved a good joke. She loved attending family reunions and for many years when the grandchildren were young hosted most of the local family holiday dinners. Doris loved to cook and share her long list of family recipes which she passed down to the kids, grandkids and great grandkids. They have each mastered their own individual specialty for either her amazing pecan pie, her awesome fruit cake, the famous family Mac n Cheese dish and many others. While Doris will be sorely missed here on earth and our hearts are saddened and heavy with her loss, we know she is rejoicing in Heaven.
