Doris Jeannine (Moore) Carpenter

July 20, 1929 – August 12, 2025

Doris Jeannine (Moore) Carpenter, affectionately known as Jean, entered into the presence of her loving Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at her home in Fort Valley, Georgia. She was 96 years old.

Jean was born on July 20, 1929, in Bellaire, Ohio, to the late Johnny and Daisy (Glass) Moore. A devoted homemaker, Jean was known for her unwavering faith, her love of the Lord, and her joyful spirit. She praised God through song and worship and was a faithful prayer warrior, mother, and friend.

Jean was a longtime member of Sun Rise Full Gospel Church. In earlier years, she and her husband, Bob, raised their family in the loving community of South Bellaire Methodist Church. Her passion for music was evident in her daily life-if she wasn't singing, she was tapping her feet and fingers along to every beat. She also enjoyed reading and treasured every moment spent with her family, and had a special love for animals.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Francis "Bob" Marion Dulaney and Henry Carpenter; her children, Christine Zammit, Robert Dulaney, and Daniel Dulaney; her sister, Judy Miller; her grandson, Daniel Lee Dulaney; and great-granddaughter, Preslee Dulaney.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith in her surviving children: Linda Connell (Bob), Darlene Dimmick (Mike), and Sally Dulaney; her grandchildren: Tracy Martin, Dawn Keittler, Brooke Dulaney, Bree Anderson, Michael Dimmick, Talbert Dulaney, and Christie McDaniel; and sixteen cherished great-grandchildren.

A service celebrating Jean's life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory, with Pastor Dwayne Evors officiating. Jean will be laid to rest at a later date in her family plot in Ohio. 2 Corinthians 5:1-11
