From an early age, Doris accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She began her spiritual journey at Nicholson Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Elson McDowell. Doris was a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind her devoted husband, David Brown, and her cherished daughters, Bridget (Jason) McFarland and Nikki Boles, both of Hattiesburg, MS. She also leaves her beloved stepdaughter, Vivian Brown.
She is lovingly remembered by her four sisters: Deborah Cox of Atlanta, GA; Mary (Michael) Walker and Sandra (Perry) Wade, both of Hattiesburg, MS; and Kimberly (Jimmeridith) Johnson of Allen, TX. Her two brothers, Elder Gregory (Wanda) Boulton of Hattiesburg, MS, and Kevin Boulton of Memphis, TN, also survive her.

So sorry to hear of Doris's passing. I worked with her about 10 years at BellSouth and always found her pleasant and usually smiling. The family has my Sympathy and prayers.

To know Doris was to love her. I loved her mom who was such a gentle, sweet, loving WOG. Doris was a living image of everything I loved and admired about her mom who taught me Sunday School. She loved the Lord, her husband, her siblings, her children and grandchildren with her whole heart and still had love to spare. She will be missed and never forgotten. We have that blessed assurance and we hold on to the memories and the love. May God comfort you as you celebrate her Homegoing. God's Word is true. Lean on Him and He will see you through.
