It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Doris "Lynda" Dominguez. She went home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2025, at Premier Nursing Home. Born on July 5, 1942, in Nashville, Georgia and grew up in Clewiston, Florida, she graced this world for 83 remarkable years.
Her journey took her from Clewiston, Florida to several U.S Air Force bases during her husband's service before settling near the sunny shores of West Palm Beach, Florida. Later moving to the charming streets of Cary, North Carolina, and finally to the rolling plains of Manhattan, Kansas before settling in
Jacksonville, North Carolina to be near her family. Lynda touched many lives in each of these communities.
Known for her meticulous attention to detail and warm demeanor, Lynda worked diligently as a bookkeeper and relocation coordinator. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she found joy in interior decorating, shopping, playing Dominoes with family and friends, and in the quiet solace of playing solitaire. In her younger years, she enjoyed oil painting, especially beachscapes.
While decorating was an outlet for her creativity, it was her family that served as her true masterpiece. Her unwavering love for her three boys was evident in every aspect of her life and she loved nothing more than surrounding herself with her family and a multitude of friends.
Her surviving family includes her sons, G. Mike Dominguez of Jacksonville and David A. Dominguez and his wife, Kelly, also of Jacksonville. Her grandchildren-Billy Dominguez, Troy Dominguez, and Jenna Dominguez - were her pride and joy, and she cherished her great-grandchildren, Cole, Tucker, Grant, and Olive Rose, with all her heart.
Lynda is also survived by her sister, L. Dean Webb of Chandler, Arizona; sister-in-law Iliana Upchurch of Tallahassee, FL; many nieces and nephews, especially Lisa (Jonathan) Adams, Julie (John) DeLorme and Emily (Chris) Robinson; and her special friends, Linda White, Bruce Scudder, Debbie Harmon, and many more who will all carry her memory forward.
Her unwavering Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing comfort through all of life's seasons. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, José G. Dominguez, Jr.; her son, J. Richard Dominguez; her mother, Madeline Oleny McDaniel; her sister-in-law Ana Dominguez; brother-in-law William Upchurch; her sister, Louise Swearingen; and her brothers, Terril Webb, Donald Webb, Benny Kay Webb, and Jimmy Webb.
Throughout her life, Lynda was known for her friendly and outgoing nature. She had the uncanny ability to make everyone feel welcome, whether hosting gatherings or simply sharing a friendly conversation. Lynda's home was a sanctuary where everyone felt loved by her kind spirit and generous hospitality. She took immense pride in caring for her family and forged friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Her inspirational spirit will continue to touch the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Jupiter, Florida, with details to be announced by the family. In honoring Lynda's memory, let us strive to extend kindness, warmth, and love to one another, just as she did every day of her extraordinary life.
