Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel & Cremation ServicesDoris Jeanette Dymond, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on January 7, 1942, in Glen Rose, Texas, to Winchie and Marie Rhodes, Doris devoted her life to faith, family, and teaching. She spent many years as a P.E. teacher at Crockett Elementary in Weatherford, where her passion for shaping young lives left a lasting impact on countless students.
Above all, Doris was a devoted mother who treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Her greatest joy, however, came from her role as “Granny.” She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless delight to her life. Known for her warmth and kindness, Doris had a gift for making everyone feel comfortable in her presence.
Doris enjoyed creating a welcoming home filled with love. She also found joy in her community as a proud member of VFW Post 8235. An avid gardener, she filled her yard with colorful flowers and fragrant rosebushes, a haven for the hummingbirds she delighted in feeding.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winchie and Marie Rhodes; and her sisters, Marlene Folley and Betty Britton.
Doris is survived by her husband of 18 years, James Perry Dymond, Jr. of Weatherford, Texas; daughter, Vicki Turnipseed and husband, Robert; son, Mickey Phillips and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Danielle Webster and husband, Kelvin, Danon Ponder, Mickey Phillips, Jr., and Rock Phillips; sister, Lovella Williams and husband, Jimmy; and her cherished great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pythian Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Her legacy of love and kindness will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched.
