Doris Bergan Fannon of Upper Southampton, PA, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024, at the age of 95.
She was born and raised in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia, to the late Catherine Callahan and Joseph Bergan. Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 58 years, Thomas F. Fannon, by her beloved grandson William B. Warner, and by her brother, Robert Bergan.
She is survived by her five daughters, Diana Warner (Robert), Suellen Foley (George), Justine Saldutti (Thomas), Audrey Fannon, Melissa Fabiani (Joseph), her brother Joseph Bergan (Janet), along with 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Affectionately known as "Dodie" to her family and friends, Doris was a proud graduate of West Catholic Girls' High School and Pierce Junior College. Shortly after college she went abroad taking a job with The State Department in The Netherlands, where she resided in The Hague for two years. Once stateside, she resumed her relationship with future husband Tom and married in 1954.
"Dodie" was an avid tennis player, hitting the clay courts of Southampton Tennis Club well into her eighties. A pioneer "fashionista", "Dodie" loved to shop and always kept up with the latest trends. She was a constant presence at her grandchildren's numerous school and sports events from grade school through college. Everyone knew "Dodie".
She was so grateful to be a part of her 12 great grandchildren's lives and cherished each visit with them, just days before her death. Cheers to 95 years of a wonderful life "Dodie"!!
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave., Southampton, PA 18966 at 11am.
A mass of Christian burial will begin at 12 Noon, with the Rev. Msgr. James McCoy as celebrant.
Interment for Doris will take place at a later date at the request of her family and will be held privately..
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in the memory of Dodie's late grandson Staff Sergeant William B. Warner at Fisherhouse.org.
