Lora Gaylene (Queen) Fannon, age 57, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away, Thursday, August 21, 2025, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on March 25, 1968, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Henry Harrison Queen and Deborah Lea Taylor. She was married on November 16, 2019, in Jefferson City, to Darryl Lee Fannon who survives at the home.

Lora was a 1986 graduate of Jefferson City High School. After 29 years of dedicated service, Lora retired from the Missouri State Department of Revenue.

Lora was a vibrant soul whose warmth and compassion touched everyone she met. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-cherishing her time at the beach, where the waves mirrored her adventurous spirit. A devoted grandmother and step-grandmother, Lora's love for her family was boundless, filling their lives with laughter and comfort. She had a passion for seafood, often delighting in sharing meals that brought everyone together. Known to many as a true gladiator, she faced life's challenges with courage and grace, inspiring those around her with her fun-loving nature and unwavering strength. Lora's legacy is one of love, resilience, and unforgettable memories.

She is survived by her loving husband, Darryl Fannon; step-daughter, Jessica Horton, of Jefferson City, Mo.; sister Dana Shelton; brother-in-law, Tom Fannon (Mary); nieces, Denise Poznack, and Christy Fannon-Butler; and step-grandchildren, Benjamin, Bryan, and Brayden; and her furbaby, Kane.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Deborah Trenary; sister, Dara Koelling; and her maternal grandparents Marion (Jack) and Nadine Taylor.

Lora's wishes were to be donated to science, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Croix Hospice, 1706 Missouri Blvd., Jefferson City, Mo., 65109, or Community Christian Church, 409 Ellis Blvd., Jefferson City, Mo., 65101.
