Frank Enloe

Mr. Frank Alden Enloe, age 93 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at his home with his children at his bedside.

He was born September 8, 1931, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Charles Olen and Alma Etta (Jobe) Enloe.

He lived most of his youth in the Centertown, Mo. area and was a 1949 graduate of Aurora High School, California, Mo. After High School he attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Mo. In 1960, he received a certificate in Highway Engineering from International Correspondence School, Scranton, Pa., and was a Registered Professional Engineer in Missouri and Kansas.

He was united in marriage to Mary Dee Procter on May 27, 1951, at the Centertown Baptist Church.

Frank served in the U.S. Army Medical Services Corp during the Korean War from January 1951 to December 1953. He was stationed in Germany for two years prior to being honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

In January 1954 Frank was employed as a materials inspector by the Missouri Highway Department (later known as MODOT) in St. Joseph, Mo. After five and one-half years, he was transferred to the Materials Field Office in Jefferson City as a liaison between the Main Office and the District Offices where he worked for another six and one-half years.

From September 1966 to May 1983, he worked for the Asphalt Institute as District Engineer in Missouri and Kansas.

Following his employment with the Asphalt Institute, Frank worked for Jefferson Asphalt Company in Jefferson City as General Manager and Engineer. He then worked for Richardson and Bass Construction Co. in Columbia, Mo. as Quality Control Engineer and later as President of the Company. Frank wrapped up his successful career by owning a consulting engineering firm in Jefferson City that specialized in asphalt and aggregates from September 1993 to December 2004.

Frank was a member of several professional organizations, including: life member of National and Missouri Society of Professional Engineers; life member of Association of Asphalt Pavement Technologists; life member of American Society of Civil Engineers; Past President of Missouri Chapter of American Public Works Association; Past President of Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association; and in 1995 he was inducted into the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association Hall of Fame.

An active community member, Frank served on the Jefferson City Public School Board of Education from 1977 to 1983 and was a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. He never met a stranger and used his friendly personality as a volunteer patient greeter at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital and Jefferson City Medical Group. Up until his passing, he served as President of the resident association at Primrose Retirement Community.

A long-time member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, member of the Church Choir, Senior Adult Choir, and numerous church committees.

Frank loved to sing, hunt, ride horses, play cards, have fun with his family and friends, and watch old westerns on TV.

Survivors include his children: Carol Craighead (Michael), Ken Enloe (Karen), Keith Enloe (Janet), of Jefferson City, and Kelly Enloe (Annette) of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Arliss Collins of Jefferson City; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by Mary Dee, his loving wife of 63 years, his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents and one great-grandchild.

Per his request his body was donated to the University of Missouri School of Medicine.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Jefferson City. An informal visitation will follow his service at the church.

Private graveside services and interment will be held at Enloe Cemetery in Russellville, Mo. at a later time.
