Pansy Patton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Freeman Mortuary - Jefferson City on Oct. 11, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Pansy Irene Patton, age 73, of Jefferson City, Missouri, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, October 9, 2025, with her dear friend by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Pansy was born on July 25, 1952, in East Prairie, Missouri, to the late Jewell and Zona (Shavers) Ditto. On June 8, 1970, she was united in marriage to Michael Patton, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Throughout her life, Pansy worked diligently with several local businesses in their custodial departments, including JC Manor and Still Hospital, before retiring from the Missouri Office of Administration in 2007. She took great pride in her work and was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.
Faith was the cornerstone of Pansy's life. She found joy, comfort, and belonging at Memorial Baptist Church, where she developed lasting friendships and a deep sense of purpose. Her favorite color was purple, a perfect reflection of her gentle yet vibrant spirit. She loved listening to gospel and country music-songs that soothed her soul and lifted her heart-and she was rarely without her collection of cassette tapes and VHS movies.
A true Cardinals fan, Pansy lit up with excitement whenever she watched a game. One of her proudest moments was when, with the help of her church family, she attended her very first St. Louis Cardinals game-a dream come true that she cherished deeply. Another highlight was her first birthday party, a joyful surprise that filled her heart with gratitude.
Pansy loved to cook and had an ever-growing collection of recipes, many of which she discovered through social media. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and creativity, where love was always the main ingredient.
Though sweet-natured and kind, Pansy also had a playful, ornery streak that kept those around her smiling. Her humor, generosity, and gentle spirit touched many lives, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include one daughter, Misty Comstock (Rodney Thompson); three grandchildren, Angelic Comstock, Jessica Thompson and Joshua Thompson; her dear friends, Cheryl Duren (Ralph) and Pam Singer (Larry), who cared for her until the end; and her church family at Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Martha Watkins, Larry Ditto, Steven Ditto and Betty Golden.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Memorial Baptist Church, 1120 Madison St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
A celebration of Pansy's life will follow at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend David Newton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Memorial Baptist Church, 1120 Madison St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
