Shirley Jean Wibberg, age 84, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at StoneBridge Senior Living – Villa Marie.
She was born on October 8, 1941, in Jefferson City, Mo., one of six children born to the late Harvey and Gladys (Wekenborg) Hagner. She went to school near her home by Horseshoe Bend Road in Jefferson City.
She met her husband, Lawrence Wibberg, working at a metal factory. They were united in marriage on February 15, 1969, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where they remained longtime members. The couple shared 55 years of marriage prior to his passing on February 17, 2024.
Shirley later worked at Eagles, drove the neighborhood school bus, and eventually retired from working at Budget Inn, formally Veits. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning, shopping, gambling at the casino, animals, and listening to music; particularly George Strait and "Orange Blossom Special" on the fiddle. She had a passion for helping others, especially by feeding them meals, giving them gifts, or offering a place to stay at her own home.
She is survived by her daughter, Regina Ann Timbrook and her husband, Tim; one sister, Mary Jane Quinn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Gladys; and siblings, Joan Hirx, Gregory Hagner, Donald Hagner, and Bernard Hagner.
Per Shirley's wishes, no services will be held.
