Lawrence Paul Wibberg, age 85, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, at his home.
He was born on January 10, 1939, in Frankenstein, Mo., to Frank Wibberg and Regina (Troesser) Wibberg. He was one of seven children.
He worked many jobs like cleaning chicken coops to be able to attend Fatima High School and he was the first of his family to graduate. After graduation, he was employed as a die caster, and this is where he met his wife Shirley Jean Hagner. They were married on February 15, 1969. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
From this union Regina Ann, their daughter, was born. She was named after Lawrence's mother. He continued to work at the factory in Jefferson City until his retirement. Then he was able to spend time enjoying his favorite hobbies. St. Louis Cardinals was always on the television or the radio. I hope you had one of his delicious home-grown tomatoes or other garden delights. He also enjoyed flowers, trees and of course birds. He was the best at fishing, hunting, sewing clothes, games of any kind and being the most gracious, kind human being in this world.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; his daughter Regina Timbrook (Tim); his two brothers, Elmer (Barbara) and Cletus (Eileen) and one sister Evelyn Luebbert (Wilfred), also by sister-in-law, Mary Jane Quinn and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Regina Wibberg; three brothers Frank, Walter (Reva), and Linus (Susie) Wibberg. Linus died in a boating accident on the Missouri River.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Lawrence Wibberg Memorial Fund by mailing contributions to P.O. Box 95, Jefferson City, Mo., 65102.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary, 915 Madison St, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Lawrence will be cremated.
No memorial service will be held per the wishes of Lawrence.
