Doris Frick of Denver passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2025, two weeks after suffering a stroke.
Doris Martha (Wienke) Frick was born September 23, 1935, to Erhart and Katherine Wienke of Emerald, WI. Doris grew up with her 3 brothers on a dairy farm. She graduated from Clear Lake High school in 1953.
Doris met Carl Frick on a blind date. They were married on January 1, 1955, Emerald, WI. They settled in St Paul, MN where they lived for the next twelve years. Doris was a homemaker raising three children and active in her church.
In 1966 the family moved to Golden, CO. Doris and Carl joined Holy Shepherd Lutheran church where Doris served as the Funeral food coordinator for ten years. The families main activity was camping and Doris would play her accordion around the campfire. Doris also bowled many years on a league.
Doris and Carl enjoyed their retirement years, traveling and RV'ing extensively. They were members of a square dancing group and danced for twenty-five years.
After Carl passed away in August-2018, Doris kept busy with her bible study groups, sewing with her quilting friends at "Busy Bees". She enjoyed gardening and playing her piano.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Carl and a brother Alan. She is survived by two brothers, three children, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Doris will be remembered for her Christian faith, devoted wife and mother, her musical talent, work ethic and energy, her love of songbirds and flowers. She was loved by many.
Service is to be held at Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church on Monday June 16th, 2025 at 1:00pm.
