Doris Mae Gilmour, 100 of Sanford, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025 at The Horizon Senior Living in Gladwin, MI. She was born to the late Lester and Lily (Page) Ranes on April 19, 1924 in Gladwin, MI. She married the love of her life John Harold Gilmour on August 13, 1949 in Midland, MI and they shared sixty-six loving years together till he preceded her in death on June 8, 2015.
Doris loved to knit, crochet and watch QVC. Her and her husband loved to travel and even witnessed Mt. St. Helen erupting. Doris was a very religious person and read her Bible every day.
Doris is survived by her children; James (Sharon) McDonald, grandchildren; Scott (Maria) McDonald, Amy (James) Hollon, 9 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and siblings; Zelma Ranes and Keith Ranes.
She is preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00am on March 26, 2025 at Midland City Cemetery with Pastor Don Duford officiating.
In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a nonprofit of donor's choice in her honor.
